1 00:00:14,720 --> 00:00:16,720 Hello and welcome to the Weekly Scroll Podcast. 2 00:00:16,720 --> 00:00:20,360 My name is Ryan. And I have still one more finger 3 00:00:20,360 --> 00:00:22,960 than normal. Hey, hello there. 4 00:00:22,960 --> 00:00:26,200 I'm Stella Condrey. Howdy, I'm John Davis. 5 00:00:27,360 --> 00:00:30,680 And today this is going to be session 3 of In the Light of a 6 00:00:30,680 --> 00:00:34,880 Setting Sun, Ghost of the Sierra Verde y'all. 7 00:00:36,440 --> 00:00:41,200 Y'all. I don't. 8 00:00:42,480 --> 00:00:43,960 We gotta. I don't think we have anything 9 00:00:43,960 --> 00:00:47,360 to do but get cracking right. Yeah, I mean it's. 10 00:00:47,600 --> 00:00:51,040 Probably best to describe what happened, you know, for the 11 00:00:51,040 --> 00:00:53,360 viewers as much as it is for us. Nah. 12 00:00:53,720 --> 00:00:55,280 We're not doing this for the viewers, but yes. 13 00:00:56,480 --> 00:00:58,200 So John, why don't you kick us off? 14 00:00:58,200 --> 00:00:59,880 I don't know. Yeah, if you want to do we want 15 00:00:59,880 --> 00:01:03,200 to recap last week or, or what do we want to do for, for, for 16 00:01:03,200 --> 00:01:05,440 this? Yeah, maybe just a short recap 17 00:01:05,440 --> 00:01:09,760 just for the sake of anybody out there who hasn't watched the 18 00:01:09,760 --> 00:01:13,480 last three sessions that we've done of this or last two in the 19 00:01:13,480 --> 00:01:17,520 Session 0. But basically y'all have taken 20 00:01:17,520 --> 00:01:22,840 on a job from Uncle Billy Creedence to basically suss out 21 00:01:22,840 --> 00:01:27,600 like where this rider went. So that was supposed to buy the 22 00:01:27,600 --> 00:01:30,920 inoculation for the smallpox in Black Tongue. 23 00:01:31,480 --> 00:01:35,840 And y'all are like 12 miles out of town now. 24 00:01:35,840 --> 00:01:40,840 Currently, it night had fallen, but something was following you 25 00:01:40,840 --> 00:01:44,040 all and was stalking around your fire light. 26 00:01:44,720 --> 00:01:49,520 You got into a bit of a scuffle, killed whatever it was, but it 27 00:01:49,520 --> 00:01:54,040 turned into a man. It was this big hulking hair 28 00:01:54,040 --> 00:01:56,440 creature one second. And as soon as you killed it, it 29 00:01:56,440 --> 00:02:01,040 turned into the corpse of a man. So even worse thing. 30 00:02:02,720 --> 00:02:05,920 What's that? And even worse thing, Yeah. 31 00:02:06,360 --> 00:02:09,759 Yeah. Well, you know I. 32 00:02:09,800 --> 00:02:11,720 Think we all agree it was a bear, Obviously. 33 00:02:12,720 --> 00:02:17,800 Obviously, but where y'all are? Y'all are standing around this 34 00:02:17,800 --> 00:02:25,240 corpse now figuring out what the hell just happened, and I'll let 35 00:02:25,240 --> 00:02:29,400 I'll let y'all take it away. This And just to be clear, this 36 00:02:29,400 --> 00:02:31,280 corpse is nude completely, right? 37 00:02:31,600 --> 00:02:35,080 Yeah, it is completely nude. He has shackles on his feet. 38 00:02:35,760 --> 00:02:39,200 He emaciated. A little bit, yes. 39 00:02:40,960 --> 00:02:47,240 Check his prison pocket. I mean, he does have a head. 40 00:02:47,240 --> 00:02:49,960 No more does he. We we shot that clean off with a 41 00:02:49,960 --> 00:02:53,360 shotgun. Yeah, about an inch above his 42 00:02:53,360 --> 00:03:00,040 eyes is just nothing. Well, we all saw this man attack 43 00:03:00,040 --> 00:03:04,800 us in the night, correct? I don't know what I saw. 44 00:03:05,440 --> 00:03:09,840 But they went asks. I mean, we're kind of middle of 45 00:03:09,840 --> 00:03:11,160 fucking nowhere. I don't think you know what's 46 00:03:11,160 --> 00:03:14,680 going to ask. All right, fair. 47 00:03:14,680 --> 00:03:16,800 I don't. I don't think a good burial is 48 00:03:16,800 --> 00:03:18,400 going to do anything for this soul. 49 00:03:18,960 --> 00:03:23,560 Should I shoot them again? Just shoot them into pieces. 50 00:03:25,680 --> 00:03:30,520 I don't make sure not worth the bullets and I point to where the 51 00:03:30,520 --> 00:03:33,040 head should be. I said I don't. 52 00:03:33,040 --> 00:03:34,840 I don't think you can walk that one off. 53 00:03:38,520 --> 00:03:40,800 Or. Can can we? 54 00:03:40,800 --> 00:03:43,960 Can I? So all he's got is shackles he 55 00:03:43,960 --> 00:03:45,680 doesn't have. Like those cool cut off Jean 56 00:03:45,680 --> 00:03:47,400 shorts that werewolves have. That's what I'm asking. 57 00:03:48,040 --> 00:03:54,560 For some Daisy Dukes, yeah, No, if anything, if anything, he has 58 00:03:54,560 --> 00:03:57,760 like the bare scrap of, like, loincloth on. 59 00:03:57,880 --> 00:04:01,360 That's about him. It also just happens to be a 60 00:04:01,360 --> 00:04:03,800 denim loincloth. How big is the hog? 61 00:04:03,920 --> 00:04:06,200 You know what you think. What's he got? 62 00:04:07,400 --> 00:04:11,480 Yeah, rule 2D6 Divide by divide by two. 63 00:04:13,400 --> 00:04:19,800 Do not do not round to the nearest inch that that reminds. 64 00:04:20,120 --> 00:04:23,200 That reminds me of a gag that I want to do one day where I make 65 00:04:23,200 --> 00:04:27,760 just essentially A1 for one clone of OD and D, but the only 66 00:04:27,760 --> 00:04:32,480 addition is like a measurement to determine orc Dick size that 67 00:04:32,480 --> 00:04:36,120 I just put in there randomly and supporting else, yeah. 68 00:04:36,120 --> 00:04:38,560 It's very important. Do I have a supplementary book 69 00:04:38,560 --> 00:04:42,840 for you? So is it still middle of the 70 00:04:42,840 --> 00:04:43,200 night? It's. 71 00:04:43,520 --> 00:04:44,480 Still middle of the. Night. 72 00:04:44,480 --> 00:04:46,200 Yeah, it's still middle of the night, so. 73 00:04:46,200 --> 00:04:48,920 So should we? Should we go to bed? 74 00:04:50,520 --> 00:04:53,000 Just next to the. Puddle of this dude's brains. 75 00:04:53,360 --> 00:04:58,680 Oh, move the camp a few feet. I mean, do we got Scoot? 76 00:04:59,000 --> 00:05:01,520 Everything over. I mean, I don't want to deal 77 00:05:01,520 --> 00:05:02,760 with scavengers. I. 78 00:05:03,400 --> 00:05:06,960 Mean. We got to, we got to do 79 00:05:06,960 --> 00:05:10,520 something, drag it off a little bit. 80 00:05:12,040 --> 00:05:16,920 Well, can we so shackles, can we can I look at the shackles or is 81 00:05:16,920 --> 00:05:20,440 there like a Maker's Mark or like property of like county 82 00:05:20,440 --> 00:05:23,920 prison or something like is there any anything identifying 83 00:05:23,920 --> 00:05:28,320 on the on the metal? Let's see, Let's see, or. 84 00:05:29,080 --> 00:05:31,440 Just have any tattoos or anything like. 85 00:05:32,360 --> 00:05:37,520 OK, yeah, you can look at the shackles and what languages do 86 00:05:37,520 --> 00:05:40,560 you speak? I speak whatever languages I 87 00:05:40,560 --> 00:05:44,560 want. OK, so in that case, you would 88 00:05:45,040 --> 00:05:50,920 somehow you would recognize it's, it's not necessarily a 89 00:05:50,920 --> 00:05:58,000 word, but it's a Insignia and it's an Insignia of the the 90 00:05:58,480 --> 00:06:05,320 government of Romania. And I'm aware that Romania 91 00:06:05,320 --> 00:06:07,840 exists. Yes, You're aware that Romania 92 00:06:08,160 --> 00:06:14,120 somehow you speak Romanian I. Speak it, or at least read it. 93 00:06:15,240 --> 00:06:17,680 You tried to learn, you tried to learn Latin, but. 94 00:06:19,320 --> 00:06:22,880 Got it for Romanian. Yeah, well, it has Roman in the 95 00:06:22,880 --> 00:06:25,840 name. Also, I want you to know, as 96 00:06:25,840 --> 00:06:30,880 soon as you said Romania, there was a massive just burst of wind 97 00:06:30,880 --> 00:06:33,360 that I could hear throughout my entire house, shaking my 98 00:06:33,400 --> 00:06:38,280 windows. Fashion. 99 00:06:39,200 --> 00:06:41,880 That's where Transylvania is. It is. 100 00:06:44,840 --> 00:06:50,120 It's very spooky. So I let everyone know that 101 00:06:50,520 --> 00:07:04,440 well, this this year's Romanian. Some kind of Latino I like I, I 102 00:07:04,440 --> 00:07:08,000 saw a YouTube comment once on like this Argentinian folk song 103 00:07:08,000 --> 00:07:11,240 where is this Italian guy like talk about how beautiful it was 104 00:07:11,240 --> 00:07:15,800 in Spanish and he said like love to my Latino cousins and he 105 00:07:15,800 --> 00:07:21,600 included like Spain, Portugal in that alongside with Italy, but 106 00:07:21,600 --> 00:07:24,480 he also included which, you know, it's kind of weird. 107 00:07:24,640 --> 00:07:28,000 I feel like maybe it's like a difference in like how the word 108 00:07:28,000 --> 00:07:31,760 is used in Italy or whatever, but I feel like it's like people 109 00:07:31,760 --> 00:07:34,960 in North and South America are like Latinos and not like. 110 00:07:35,280 --> 00:07:38,760 But he also included Romanians in there and it's just stuck 111 00:07:38,760 --> 00:07:41,880 with me ever since it's. Like you think, you think about 112 00:07:41,880 --> 00:07:45,560 it, and you're like, well, I can see, I can see his thought 113 00:07:45,560 --> 00:07:49,240 process. Yeah, yeah, like Romanian. 114 00:07:49,440 --> 00:07:53,400 Very much a Romance language, very Latin 8. 115 00:07:55,840 --> 00:08:00,720 So 3 inches, are we going to sleep now? 116 00:08:01,080 --> 00:08:04,320 We we got to drag this thing. I'll drag this body off, yeah. 117 00:08:04,360 --> 00:08:07,160 Yeah, yeah. Make it off. 118 00:08:07,160 --> 00:08:11,400 We'll like kick dirt over all the blood and brains and stuff. 119 00:08:11,400 --> 00:08:14,360 So the yeah, so the scavengers don't come in or we love the 120 00:08:14,360 --> 00:08:15,960 scavengers come in and we shoot them and eat those. 121 00:08:18,600 --> 00:08:20,880 But. Vulture, ME. 122 00:08:21,880 --> 00:08:24,920 Do I know, did you say like I just know it's like a mark from 123 00:08:24,920 --> 00:08:27,160 Romania? Does it say anything specific or 124 00:08:27,160 --> 00:08:29,280 it's just an Insignia that happens to be Romanian? 125 00:08:31,080 --> 00:08:38,360 You would know enough that Romania at this point in history 126 00:08:38,840 --> 00:08:43,240 still has slavery. The winter so. 127 00:08:43,480 --> 00:08:45,800 Werewolf slavery. Yeah, werewolf slavery. 128 00:08:50,040 --> 00:08:59,440 So you're you're guessing that somehow this guy escaped and 129 00:08:59,440 --> 00:09:05,640 made it to America somehow. Interesting. 130 00:09:06,120 --> 00:09:10,720 But this is also post Ottoman rule right? 131 00:09:11,480 --> 00:09:16,320 Because like the Ottomans ruled Romanian to like the 18, seven, 132 00:09:16,840 --> 00:09:20,240 1875. I don't fucking know. 133 00:09:22,760 --> 00:09:27,360 I could have my years mixed up, but I do know that Romania had 134 00:09:27,600 --> 00:09:29,480 slavery at some point in their. History. 135 00:09:29,480 --> 00:09:30,880 Oh yeah. No, no, that's, that's. 136 00:09:30,880 --> 00:09:32,400 Time. That's totally that. 137 00:09:32,480 --> 00:09:34,080 You know, that would make total sense to me. 138 00:09:34,080 --> 00:09:37,400 I'm just trying to just trying to think if they're if they're 139 00:09:37,400 --> 00:09:40,080 still under Turkish rule. Gotcha. 140 00:09:42,720 --> 00:09:47,480 Just anyways. Well, that's fucked. 141 00:09:49,200 --> 00:09:56,160 Yeah, yeah. So what's the what's the plan 142 00:09:56,160 --> 00:09:58,040 here, y'all? Are you going to drag this body 143 00:09:58,040 --> 00:09:59,560 off and then go to bed? I'm. 144 00:10:00,000 --> 00:10:02,240 Dragging. Nature's going to take care of 145 00:10:02,240 --> 00:10:04,000 it, yeah. OK. 146 00:10:04,920 --> 00:10:09,320 All right, y'all sleep through the night with no incidents. 147 00:10:09,440 --> 00:10:11,680 No more incidents you. Sleep peacefully. 148 00:10:12,080 --> 00:10:16,560 As peacefully as you can. What's everyone's luck at 149 00:10:16,560 --> 00:10:20,680 currently, by the way? I'm at 18 Max. 150 00:10:20,920 --> 00:10:26,880 I'm at 39 out of 47. OK. 48 out of a lot. 151 00:10:28,600 --> 00:10:34,320 All right, cool deal. So in that case, y'all heal 152 00:10:34,320 --> 00:10:37,120 those who need to heal one point of luck. 153 00:10:40,520 --> 00:10:46,360 Perfect. And I hope you're, I hope you're 154 00:10:46,360 --> 00:10:49,920 marking off rations because that's important. 155 00:10:50,480 --> 00:10:52,360 Yeah, you're going to mark off 1. 156 00:10:53,720 --> 00:10:55,800 I'm going to eat my ration of fruit. 157 00:10:59,320 --> 00:11:03,600 So we said provisions are also rations, but I have one ration, 158 00:11:03,840 --> 00:11:10,520 so I'm just OK, all right, well, I'm just going to get rid of my 159 00:11:10,520 --> 00:11:15,040 1 and I'll eat my heart attack that I specifically said was 160 00:11:15,040 --> 00:11:19,640 heart attack. I like how you chose the worst. 161 00:11:20,200 --> 00:11:21,520 The worst things? Too. 162 00:11:22,000 --> 00:11:24,440 Yeah, you know, the cost of it made no difference. 163 00:11:24,440 --> 00:11:26,640 Like I picked the worst one. You could have done some a 164 00:11:26,640 --> 00:11:29,840 little bit nicer, you know, Pemican or something, which not 165 00:11:29,840 --> 00:11:33,160 the nicest thing, but. More palatable than hard tack, 166 00:11:33,160 --> 00:11:38,200 yes. Well, there is one thing worse 167 00:11:38,240 --> 00:11:43,240 than hard tack, and that is aged hard tack where you have to just 168 00:11:43,600 --> 00:11:47,960 pretend there aren't bugs in it. Very true, very true. 169 00:11:49,840 --> 00:11:53,600 Which, going at this rate, Ryan would say, actually, no, this 170 00:11:53,600 --> 00:11:59,320 stuff's got bugs in it. The protein in my, in my, in my 171 00:12:00,240 --> 00:12:03,240 clinical bread. Balanced diet, yeah. 172 00:12:05,280 --> 00:12:07,160 All right, So what direction are y'all headed? 173 00:12:08,040 --> 00:12:12,000 You know that Fort? What did I say? 174 00:12:12,000 --> 00:12:15,960 What Fort it was? That was Fort Cotsworth Fort. 175 00:12:16,000 --> 00:12:17,720 Cotswold. Cotswold. 176 00:12:17,720 --> 00:12:24,400 That's it. Fort Cotswold yes is South and 177 00:12:24,400 --> 00:12:32,200 then east of here. So you from the map that you 178 00:12:32,360 --> 00:12:40,360 have you can go 12345 S and then one to the east. 179 00:12:41,640 --> 00:12:44,840 Yeah, I reckon let's just keep heading due South unless we run 180 00:12:44,840 --> 00:12:46,480 into something. I agree all. 181 00:12:49,720 --> 00:12:51,960 Right. It's just a small smattering of 590 00:42:21,600 --> 00:42:25,680 cabins here at this small offshoot of the Black Tongue 591 00:42:25,680 --> 00:42:39,360 River. Yeah, but we're we're going to, 606 00:43:51,760 --> 00:43:54,440 I'm going to try and, you know, ask him like, hey, do you think 607 00:43:54,440 --> 00:43:59,040 it would be safe for you to, you know, stay here or. 608 00:44:00,560 --> 00:44:03,000 He said. He says possibly I just need to 609 00:44:03,000 --> 00:44:05,120 make it back to rock and chair to see my wife. 610 00:44:05,480 --> 00:44:09,440 She lit out of Borland Colony not too long after I was put in 611 00:44:09,440 --> 00:44:12,000 the hot box. I it feels rather modest to you 616 00:44:23,240 --> 00:44:28,160 know, know everything about you looking at but not know your 617 00:44:28,160 --> 00:44:31,600 name. Name's Jonas. 618 00:44:32,920 --> 00:44:37,880 Well, Jonas, I mean, best bet, maybe find someone who could 619 00:44:37,880 --> 00:44:42,720 ferry you down to rock and chair, I mean, through the river 620 00:44:42,720 --> 00:44:48,240 a little bit, right? Because the because the river 621 00:44:48,240 --> 00:44:50,800 flows towards Black Tongue, right? 622 00:44:51,240 --> 00:44:52,560 Yes. I remember someone talking about 630 00:45:23,600 --> 00:45:27,280 how special Weezer is because in a lot of cases, like, you know, 631 00:45:27,520 --> 00:45:33,280 someone who's like audiences like 14 to 20 year olds 20 years 632 00:45:33,280 --> 00:45:35,880 ago now has like 36 to 40 year olds. 633 00:45:35,880 --> 00:45:39,800 But Weezer has a special ability for all of their fans to be 14 634 00:45:39,800 --> 00:45:42,120 forever. Perpetually 14. 635 00:45:42,440 --> 00:45:43,360 Yeah. Yeah. 636 00:45:45,720 --> 00:45:48,640 So are you dumping Jonas off here because he he says he could 637 00:45:48,640 --> 00:45:51,040 possibly try and make it back to Rocky Chair from here, but 638 00:45:51,040 --> 00:45:54,280 there's no guarantee. There's no guarantee that make 639 00:45:54,280 --> 00:46:00,720 anywhere longer with us so. Yeah, we, we, we got, we got a 640 00:46:00,720 --> 00:46:04,600 town to save. His eyes narrow and he just nods 649 00:46:35,920 --> 00:46:39,320 and he's like the big toe boys. That was the name we we ended up 650 00:46:39,320 --> 00:46:40,280 going with, right? Yeah. 651 00:46:40,760 --> 00:46:42,360 Basically I. Have it, It's the biggest thing 652 00:46:42,360 --> 00:46:45,480 on my character sheet. Hell yeah. 653 00:46:47,120 --> 00:46:51,000 And since since he's a grower, you know, we don't know how big, 654 00:46:51,600 --> 00:46:54,160 you know, is what's going on there, so. 655 00:46:55,840 --> 00:46:57,440 Yeah, but there's a bowler hat in the way. 656 00:46:57,680 --> 00:46:59,000 Yeah, there's a bowler hat in the way. 657 00:46:59,240 --> 00:47:04,080 Later, Big Dick Jonas. He he turns completely red the 659 00:47:13,760 --> 00:47:17,480 but yeah, you you ride off having having left this nude, 660 00:47:17,480 --> 00:47:20,360 naked man in this smattering of cabins out in the middle of 661 00:47:20,360 --> 00:47:25,200 nowhere and you ride off just outside of town. 662 00:47:25,200 --> 00:47:27,840 I'm going to. Remove the bowler hat from my 663 00:47:27,840 --> 00:47:32,920 inventory. Yeah, just outside of town you 664 00:47:33,160 --> 00:47:44,800 come across this encampment where you see a spindly, like 665 00:47:45,160 --> 00:47:54,720 spidery looking young man kneeling longer than his torso. 666 00:47:55,000 --> 00:47:59,520 OK. Spindly young man kneeling in 667 00:47:59,520 --> 00:48:01,800 what looks to be a large excavation. 668 00:48:03,560 --> 00:48:06,240 They were in a red jacket. He is not. 669 00:48:06,600 --> 00:48:09,560 He is. He's actually got one of those 670 00:48:09,560 --> 00:48:14,240 like safari hats on. Like a pith helm. 671 00:48:14,480 --> 00:48:19,560 Yeah, like a pith helm. And he's got a large brush in 672 00:48:19,560 --> 00:48:21,920 one hand and a magnifying glass in another. 673 00:48:27,840 --> 00:48:32,120 And he, he look, he, he does not look up when you ride past. 674 00:48:33,400 --> 00:48:40,400 All right. I'm like mission focused. 675 00:48:40,400 --> 00:48:42,640 Yeah. Yeah, I'm, I'm mission focused. 676 00:48:43,160 --> 00:48:44,520 That's.
